Agency Electrician

This position is CONTRACT to DIRECT HIRE

 

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools based on engineering drawings.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools based on engineering drawings.
  • Support equipment installation in the field as required
  • Maintain control of materials lay-up for projects
  • Report any material shortages to the materials planning group
  • Review and return all redline and mark up on electrical drawings
  • Process work records as required.
  • Assure on-time product shipments.
  • Assure safe working conditions.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Solve problems independently and as a member of a team.
  • Assist in identifying training needs.
  • Coordinate and manage projects of varying scope and complexity.
  • Report percent complete status and estimate “to complete” labor and timing.
  • Work well with suppliers and customers as required to successfully complete projects.
  • Work well with Engineers, Management, Build staff and support functions.

                   

Education and Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the machine tool industry
  • Must have excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be capable of interfacing with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Read and interpret developmental blueprints, Bills of Material, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing factory equipment, systems and processes.
  • Operate forklift
  • Manufacturing – Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Time Management -Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems.

Repetition with activity; computer work.
  • Be able to climb ladders; lift hand tools approx. 1-15 lbs. in weight to complete machine assembly, parts up to 50 lbs.  Repetition with activity. 
  • Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Occasional travel required
