PURPOSE: Employees in this position actively manage an assigned territory by aggressively engaging all customers with the delivery of Lincoln’s total value proposition- resulting in increased sales. In pursuit of this goal, the Technical Sales Representative will provide technical support, products demonstrations, and training to both end users, and our distribution network. Finally, the Technical Sales Representative  will drive corporate and regional strategic initiatives with a focus on growing sales.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Actively manage and grow an existing $12MM territory in South East Michigan (Greater Detroit area through Blissfield, MI).
  • Likes to work in a team environment with other members of the Great Lakes Region, as well as other resources within our organization.
  • Recognized as an expert in the market in the sales/support of Lincoln products/programs
  • Ability to work with all levels of client, up to CEO, and ability to recognize when to bring Senior Lincoln Management into the sale
  • Develop strategies to grow business with key distribution partners within the territory. Provide distributor training as needed; support and promote corporate distributor programs, and create your own targeted programs to drive sales and increase share through this channel.
  • Drive Educational Programs to all major schools and Unions to increase product share and visibility in educational facilities, and total sales.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering discipline strongly preferred; ten years industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Lincoln Electric Technical Sales Representative or similar Lincoln Electric position. (Minimum five years for level II or minimum 8 years for level III.)
  • Self-motivated, aggressive, organized, and independent.
  • Ability to relocate to South East Michigan
  • A selected candidate’s Job Level and Pay Grade will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.
