Welding Department

Non-Exempt Position (Hourly)

Position Summary:

Candidate will work out of Fori’s Shelby Twp. Michigan facility and will report to the Controls Engineering Manager. Candidate must demonstrate the following to be considered:

  • Develop system concept and architecture based on line-up information from mechanical engineering
  • Ensure all designs meet either Fori or customer standards
  • Research and specify materials to be used
  • Complete designs including all aspects of a weld system from schematics to layouts
  • Prepare engineering drawings and schematics of electrical & pneumatic components and devices
  • Responsible for quality of drawings, revisions, bill of materials and other related documentation
  • Revise drawings and generate change notices
  • Responsible for managing the drawing library
  • Create bill of materials and generate purchase requisitions
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews of deliverables.
  • Work directly with project engineers, team managers and purchasing personnel
  • Act as engineering liaison to manufacturing and field service departments.
  • Lead the controls hardware review with the customer

 

Requirements:

  • Understanding of electrical design concepts and processes, components, circuits and power distribution
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications
  • Ability to interact with company personnel, customers and vendors while representing company in a professional manner
  • Must display an eagerness to learn about and apply new products and conventions
  • Possess excellent time-management skills; ability to meet production schedules while managing multiple priorities
  • 5 years of experience in this classification
  • Knowledge of spot and mig welding control systems preferred.
  • ACAD Electrical experience.
  • EPLAN experience preferred.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time.

  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
