Job Summary

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Controls Engineer with a background in Electrical Engineering.  This candidate will initially support active projects and then manage specific projects directly.  The ideal candidate will take the lead on Controls Engineering Projects.  The candidate will take the Project from line-up to installation, including the appropriate project meetings, design criteria and team management. This includes traveling to customer sites for equipment installation, customer interfacing, etc.

Job Duties

  • Design and oversee new equipment electrical control systems based on Industry Standards and Principles.
  • Programming and Troubleshooting PLC based equipment.
  • Programming and Troubleshooting HMI (Human Machine Interface) equipment.
  • Assisting customer and local trades in troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Perform end user training on equipment operation.

 

Position Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering Degree preferred with Mechatronics Degree programs considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controls Engineer. 
  • Working knowledge of Industry Standards including NEC/NFPA, OSHA and ANSI.
  • Knowledge or education in electrical circuits, schematic reading, design, and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical CAD system experience including AutoCad Electrical and/or ePLAN
  • Experience in computer programming architectures such as VB, C / C++, or C#.
  • Experience in design with Rockwell Logix 5000 family processors.
  • Experience in design with Siemens S7-1500 family processors.
  • Experience with PLC programming in ladder and structured text.
  • Experience programming HMIs
  • Microsoft Application experience, such as Word and Excel.
  • Travel required- approximately 30% domestic and international.

  3. Must NOT be on an active Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
