Position Summary:   Manages the attainment of strategic objectives through the development of operational policies, budget creation/management, improvement, and enforcement of organizational policies and procedures, while offering impactful leadership and guidance. The General Manager is a proficient leader with robust business acumen, who is adept at organization and collaboration. This role is specifically responsible for driving project execution from the receipt of a purchase order to achieving the final buyoff on the customer’s floor.  The General Manager will collaborate closely with Business Unit Managers, Project Managers, Manufacturing Teams, and Engineering Teams, actively leading initiatives for process improvements to elevate efficiency, quality, and project execution. Strong technical skills across design, manufacturing, assembly, and project management are crucial for success in this role at Fori Automation.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive hands-on involvement in project execution, working closely with Business Unit managers, project managers, manufacturing teams, and engineering teams to improve efficiency, quality, and project execution.
  • Direct and oversee activities in Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure uniformity among business units.
  • Develop, retain, and motivate a skilled, professional staff capable of meeting production and quality goals efficiently.
  • Set and establish goals aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure effective financial management using financial statements and departmental budgets for long-term planning.
  • Establish processes to ensure manufactured products meet customer quality requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to schedules for product shipments.
  • Maintain proper departmental staffing within executive management guidelines.
  • Ensure property capacity and conduct weekly resource planning.
  • Actively participate in Motor City Meetings when possible.
  • Implement project financial control down to all project managers through business unit managers.
  • Uphold the Company’s ISO certification.
  • Review and recommend a course of action for legal issues.
  • Represent the company at public relations activities following company policy.
  • Drive adherence and oversight of Lincoln Business Systems strategies.
  • Model and uphold LE Core Values & Code of Conduct.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred or equivalent industry experience       in a technical field.
  • Previous professional background should include working at a machine tool builder/integrator engaged in the design and construction of automation equipment, or at a Tier one or original equipment manufacturer with responsibilities for overseeing automation.
