Welding Proposal Engineer

 

Job Summary

Fori Automation is seeking a Welding Proposal Engineer reporting to the Director of Processing & Estimating, Welding Division. The proposal engineer will primarily support North American programs and new RFQ opportunities.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cost estimating of custom designed & manufactured system experience – welding system(s) experience is preferred
  • Utilization of INVENTOR or ACAD for development of tooling concepts and layout drawings
  • Development of technical proposals with good presentation skills
  • Review & respond to new project RFQs, customer inquiries and engineering changes
  • Compiling new program processes, layouts, and project proposals
  • Log new Welding opportunities, keep opportunity list updated for the Welding Group and help set quoting priorities
  • Support and participate in both new RFQ meetings with customers as well as technical reviews following quotation submittal
  • Prepare responses to RFQs and RFI’s in form of a Proposal Letter and Quotation, ensuring best technical and commercial solutions are used

 

Education and Experience   

  • Engineering Degree
  • 1-3 years Engineering, Proposal & Estimating experience
  • Comprehension of mechanical prints
  • Mechanical Engineering and Weld System exposure
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
