To support the components team to improve methods, planning, management and creation of Bills of Material’s.



Generate accurate routes and Bills of Materials for the manufacture of castings and machined components.

Improve the operations of the component division through project work in the areas of, Material management, inventory management, Data management with the effective use of SAP.

Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, materials and parts.

Estimate manufacturing costs.

Analyze variation in planned versus actual times.

Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.

Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.

Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.

Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.

Work with all areas of engineering and production to provide the best manufacturing methods.

Work with outside vendors or contractors where needed on most projects and with representatives of corporate manufacturing engineering and product engineering when needed.

Investigates alternative solutions for given projects, and develops cost information for each. Makes recommendations to Manager responsible for the execution of project.

Designs equipment when necessary, specifies equipment to satisfy manufacturing requirements. Technical Instruction writing for key operations

As required, will write tool orders and requisition materials explaining the specific needs to outside vendors, or other sources to assure the build or repair of required tools.



Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience

Strong knowledge of the products, materials, and processes in the Machine Division.

Aptitude for detail oriented work and problem solving (strong analytical skills).

Good written and oral communication skills.



  • Familiar with the materials Management/Production Planning module of SAP.
  • Strong computer skills must be proficient in SAP and Microsoft Tools.
  • A positive outlook, commitment to project ownership, results to orientation and a desire to improve manufacturing operations.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently or in groups with minimal supervision.
