AGENCY HMI Programmer

Reports to: Integration Manager

 

Shift: First shift, Full-time (weekends, as needed)

Position Summary: Provide communication and support throughout production stages to all necessary departments and individuals. Ensure and maintain safety and quality of electrical systems in order to assist in delivering the best product to customers.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Take initiative to meet challenging programming projects (i.e., control logic, HMI) in a timely manner and within hour budgets;
  • Assist with on-site start up and troubleshooting, as needed / required;
  • Maintain quality of equipment shipped;
  • Assist with development of programming standards and library functions;
  • Clearly and effectively communicate issues that may arise to appropriate individuals (i.e., project management staff, engineers, supervisors / managers) across the organization;
  • Uphold company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives; and
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Experience / Skills:

  • High attention to detail and quality;
  • Ability to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks;
  • Ability to keep work area clean and organized;
  • Ability to follow directions from peers within the department;
  • Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills;
  • Safely operate fork trucks and overhead cranes;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent; or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science; or equivalent with experience will be considered;
  • Machine programming (PLC/HMI) experience - Rockwell, GE;
  • Safety system programming and troubleshooting experience;
  • Network programming and troubleshooting experience;
  • Experience in robotic welding (MIG, TIG, laser, spot) preferred;
  • Commitment to company values; and
  • Educational, training and experience requirements may be modified at the management team’s discretion.

 

Nonessential Skills and Experience:

  • Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards. 

 

Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S):

  • Understand the Company’s EH&S policy and how it relates to this job;
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as Vizient’s rules and policies that pertain to this job;
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;
  • Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and
  • Attend required EH&S training.

Repetition with activity. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate; temperature in the assembly area may fluctuate with the seasons as the production area is not air conditioned.
