Shift: 1st Shift, Monday –Friday (Weekends as needed)

Position Summary: This position uses the CAM software to develop programs for CNC machines. Successful candidates will have experience as a CNC Machinist on several types of equipment.  Knowledge and understanding of proper fixture design and building is critical to developing new programs and setups. This position will also mentor others learning to use the CAM software.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop or edit programs to achieve a blueprint quality part;
  • Design and direct building of proper fixtures as needed;
  • Understand tooling feeds and speeds, surface footage, and utilizing tooling to its potential;
  • Remain a competent worker capable of meeting established production and quality goals in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Continuous improvement and better solutions to process parts to evolving industry standards;
  • Keep the Machine Shop Supervisor informed through timely utilization of verbal and written communication / reports;
  • Assume responsibility for quality, output, and efficiencies throughout machine department;
  • Monitor budgets and report actual vs projected upon job completion; and
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Experience / Skills:

  • High attention to detail and quality;
  • Read and interpret blue prints;
  • Plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks;
  • Provide directions to peers within the Machine Department;
  • Gather data, compile information and prepare reports;
  • Keep work area clean and organized;
  • Safely operate fork trucks and overhead cranes;
  • Moderate PC skills, specifically Windows-based operating system;
  • Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills; and
  • Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards.

  • Understand the Company’s EH&S Policy and how it relates to this job;
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as Vizient’s rules and policies that pertain to this job;
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;
  • Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and
  • Attend required EH&S training.
