Lincoln Electric Automation – Bettendorf (formerly known as Vizient Manufacturing Solutions, Inc.) is a robotic integrator specializing in custom engineered tooling and automated arc welding systems for general and heavy fabrication applications. Position Summary: Execute all product-specific supply chain activities and drive detailed planning, scheduling, and order management to assure agreed customer service levels with optimal cost. The incumbent will direct the procurement-related functions including materials planning, scheduling, ordering activities, direct / indirect material purchasing, inventory control, supporting project throughput, shipping and receiving.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Purchasing / Procurement department, including, but not limited to, conducting performance reviews, hiring, talent development, administering corrective actions and providing recommendations for merit increases;
  • Develop and manage the relationship with counterparts at the external suppliers as well as with customers for all supply-related matters, such as demand / supply planning and analysis and order management to guarantee high customer service levels;
  • Create, maintain and issue the monthly procurement plan for all assigned products sourced from external supply sites;
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to develop and manage the scheduled (firm fence) portion of the procurement plan;
  • Collaborate with other line functions to maintain a robust rolling forecast up to 36 months;
  • Release and communicate purchase orders to suppliers; 
  • Establish and oversee an optimal supply plan with the goal to balance customer service level, production capabilities at external supplier, inventory level and operational cost according to budget;
  • Proactively address and resolve invoice payment issues;
  • Oversee and manage order fulfillment with timely expectations and standards including organization and management of physical shipment of goods to the warehouse / markets;
  • Engage actively in supplier performance management, measurement & KPI maintenance;
  • Maintain adequate planning and master data parameters (i.e., MOQ, lead times, order frequency) setting for active assortment including the current status calculations of orders at any point in time in close collaboration with local master data;
  • Maintain stock inventories related to critical materials / components according to defined target values;
  • Reconcile inventories at vendor with system inventory and resolve all variances;
  • Perform scenario planning for potential supply disruption or business continuity issues;
  • Support financial efforts with timely update on production volumes / pricing for the remainder of the calendar year;
  • Communicate / escalate supply issues to all appropriate individuals (both externally and internally) in a timely manner; and
  • Identify and mitigate risks, report project metrics, and conduct detailed analytics for effective decision-making and problem-solving efforts.

 

Experience / Skills:

  • Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year degree specific to Supply Chain from an accredited academic institution, APICS certification preferred, or equivalent experience; with a minimum of five (5) years’ supply chain management or operations management experience, or similar field;
  • Previous supervisory or management experience;
  • Demonstrated and proven analytical, critical thinking and problem resolution skills relevant to supply chain;
  • Commitment to teamwork, well-developed and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to maintain professionalism and effectively work with individuals at all levels within an organization; and
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency using ERP / MRP systems (or other similar planning systems) and Microsoft software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Outlook Excel) are required.

 

Nonessential Skills and Experience:

  • Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards.

  • Understand the Company’s EH&S Policy and how it relates to this job;
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as company rules and policies that pertain to this job;
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;
  • Immediately notify the General Manager, EH&S Manager, and / or Operations Manager if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and
  • Attend required EH&S training.
