Job Responsibilities
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and high-performing network infrastructure across the global enterprise. This role is critical in ensuring reliable connectivity, supporting business growth, and driving innovation through modern network technologies. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement in a hybrid cloud and on-premises environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud networking components.
- Operate and maintain secure, resilient network systems using industry best practices and modern technologies.
- Lead or contribute to network integration efforts for mergers and acquisitions, including design, procurement, and deployment.
- Manage and optimize SD-WAN environments to balance performance, cost, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and ensure seamless integration with other IT systems.
- Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto), VPNs, and segmentation strategies.
- Drive automation and scripting initiatives to streamline network operations and reduce manual tasks.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours as necessary.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network capabilities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience is required.
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering and support.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, wireless).
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and/or Prisma cloud services is a plus.
- Proficiency in SD-WAN technologies and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
- Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex network issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% and participate in after-hours support as necessary.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, PCNSE, AWS/Azure Networking) are a plus.
