Job Responsibilities

  • Support a global strategic sourcing category responsible for EMEA and regional corporate services spend category.
  • The Strategic Sourcing Specialist primary function is to ensure the health & outlook of the supply chain; and support the business by creating procurement strategies and plans, based upon budgets, and coordinating project/order related materials, services, and engineering requirements with total transparency to the team.
  • MRO - Includes spare parts, tools, operations maintenance and repairs, cleaning supplies, chemicals, safety equipment, PPE, Electrical and other consumables which are necessary to manufacture Lincoln Electric products.
  • Capital Expenditures – All Capital Expenditures, supporting the acquisition, improvement, or maintenance of medium to long-term assets such as property, plant, and equipment, machinery, vehicles, material handling solutions, buildings, and other fixed assets.  Surplus asset disposal services are also included.
  • Facilities Management - Management and maintenance of our company's physical facilities; this includes document management, office supplies, rent, utilities, waste management and disposal services, building maintenance and repairs, janitorial services, landscaping, security, industrial gases etc.
  • Other Operational Expenditure – eg. Quality Management Systems, Inspection and certification costs, environmental/remedial services, operational consultancy etc.
  • Tail Spend Management
  • Conduct detailed spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Assist in the development of strategic sourcing plans for indirect spend categories
  • Coordinate market research to stay informed about industry trends and best practices
  • Utilize KPIs provided by the business intelligence team to monitor and report progress on key objectives, responsibilities, and initiatives
  • Drive optimized levels of procurement cost including year over year savings targets, based on category spend data available.
  • You will define and maintain formal strategic sourcing plans.
  • In this role, you will partner collaboratively with all parts of the business, as well as the global procurement network, senior corporate leaders, and implement procurement strategies and policies, applying a structured approach.
  • You will achieve your objectives by demonstrating a clear understanding of the business structure, good communications skills, a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to multitask and coordinate with various functions.
  • The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for ensuring an optimized supply of quality services by:
  • Clearly defining the supply chain in coordination with the cross-functional commodity team
  • Creating insight from spend and data
  • Implementing professional sourcing processes and coordinating procurement activities to deliver optimized material cost and ensure supply base meets the project’s cost, delivery and quality requirements.
  • Understanding the scope of supply and customer contract agreements, performing risk analysis and preparing for supplier negotiations
  • Identifying supply chain risks and monitoring the market forces related to supply chain to avoid potential issues/risks.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field or MCIPS qualification
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
  • Experience within Indirect Procurement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement a category management strategic approach across a global organisation combined with exemplary Procurement capability and a track record of success
  • Ability to build trust and confidence quickly and professionally.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple groups in a cross functional environment to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to bring strategic thinking and leading best practice solutions. Experience in procurement transformation is a plus.
  • Experience working in complex, high and low maturity global and regional organizations.
  • Excellent people management skills, with the track record of building high-performing and collaborative teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with various commodity specific processes/supply base.
  • Demonstrates a high level of ethical behaviour in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance
