Position Summary:
Role qualifications:
- High School, GED, Vocational High School, or Technical College and training, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in shipping and receiving.
- Supervisory skills
Position responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of workers concerned with picking product and preparing it for same day shipping both nationally and internationally via expedited carrier services.
- Supervise and coordinate the rigging of systems for shipment.
- Building custom pallets for shipment of non-standard equipment.
- On time shipping and receiving activities.
- Receive and confirm shipments in ERP system.
- Coordination of shipping contractors.
- Equipment shipping arrangements.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Issue written and oral instructions.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
- Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.
- Confer with other managers outside of the distribution center to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management and quality assurance.
- Ensure correct shipment of orders and hazardous material orders.
- Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
- Oversee warehousing and handling of materials for projects. This includes but is not limited to fabrications, machined components, purchased components, customer provided capital equipment and customer production parts.
- Schedule maintenance for fleet vehicles, fork lifts, man lift, and other equipment as necessary and maintain maintenance records.
- Other duties as assigned
Essential skills and experience:
- Extensive knowledge of department processes.
- A general knowledge of the Quality Program Manual
- A thorough knowledge of WI-21, WI-37, WI-38
- Software specific training

- Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
- Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
- Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
- Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
- Attend required EHS training

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high voltages. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
