Job Responsibilities

PURPOSE: The Director of Product Stewardship is responsible for ensuring that a company's products are safe, compliant with regulations, and environmentally sustainable. 


JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

•    Develop and implement product stewardship strategies and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

•    Manage our Chemical Information System (CIS), which contains the foundational data needed to author product safety data sheets (SDS)develop label templates and safe use guidelines.

•    Collaborate with the Director, Sustainability Global Research & Development, and cross-functional teams to ensure that products are designed, manufactured, and distributed in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner.

•    Monitor and analyze emerging regulatory trends and industry best practices to ensure that the company's product stewardship programs remain current and effective.

•    Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to ensure that the company's product stewardship programs are aligned with industry standards and expectations.

•    Provide training and guidance to employees and customers on product safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental sustainability.

•    Support the resolution of product product-related incidents that involve customers to ensure that they are handled in a timely and effective manner.

•    Develop and manage budgets for product stewardship programs and initiatives.

•    Prepare and present reports to senior management and other stakeholders on product stewardship performance and progress.

•    Ensure that the company's product stewardship programs are aligned with the company's overall business strategy and objectives.

•     Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2030 Strategy.
 

Job Requirements

•    Minimum education: BS  in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; 
•    Preferred education: MS or Professional Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Policy or Law, or related field 
•    At least 10 years or more of related experience in an industrial segment.
•    Strong understanding of Product Stewardship and Compliance practices with a working knowledge of principles affecting business development and growth.  
•    Experience working in a global and matrixed organization with the ability to work with many different cultures and languages.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through interactions with teams, business leaders, governmental agencies and third parties.
•    Strong leadership/management skills, including high integrity and business acumen. 
•    Ability to engage proactively, influence and interact effectively with colleagues, senior management, third parties, etc. demonstrating Lincoln’s values and expectations and business-partner capabilities.
•    A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team and to manage numerous matters and competing priorities effectively.
•    Diplomatic and emotionally intelligent.
