Summary

Lincoln Electric is seeking an Electronics Technician for our Euclid, Ohio headquarters. The Electronics Technician will identify, analyze, and report defects and their potential causes through part inspections, diagnose machine test failures (Machines) or PC Board rejections (Electronics), and conduct audits.

What You Will Do:

 

  • Foster an environment of continuous process and employee improvement.

  • Support or drive Continuous Improvement activities.

  • Demonstrated experience in SMT and Through-Hole PC Board inspections and processes.

  • Possess a working knowledge of IPC workmanship standards and related specifications.

  • Assist in evaluating, properly identifying, and disposing of all non-conforming items and materials.

  • Follow product, document and process changes which affect quality.

  • Collaborate with departmental supervision to develop and maintain a trained workforce.

  • Work cross functionally with internal departments: Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, and Research and Development in the design, introduction, inspection, and maintenance of new and existing equipment.

  • Collaborate with employees on the shopfloor.

  • Define, troubleshoot, and assist in the measurement and resolution of daily production quality problems.

  • Maintain inspection and test performance metrics and quality records.

  • Actively participate in the analysis of yield opportunities.

  • Identify and tag all non-conforming items discovered.

  • Assist in quality training and provide performance feedback to production personnel to production supervision.

  • Conduct employee, work center, and piece check audits as required.

  • Initiate Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) determinations.

  • Report safety near misses and incidents whenever applicable.

  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing non-conforming machines (Machines) or PC Boards (Electronics).

Required Education & Experience:

 

Technician II: Vocational training and 3+ years of experience in a relevant work environment; or High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment.

Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience in a relevant work environment.

  • Ability to develop and maintain records and follow projects through to conclusion.

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering and quality standards.

  • Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office and the Windows operating system.

  • Ability to use measurement and inspection tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, Pins, Gauges, Protractor, and Scale.

  • Ability to use a digital multimeter (DMM) to make electrical measurements.

  • Skills in equipment and/or electronics troubleshooting are desirable.

  • Capable of frequent standing and walking and lifting up to 60 lbs.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts (although very rare)
