Summary

 

Lincoln Electric is seeking a Engineering Technologist for our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. The Engineering Technologist will play a key role in supporting Lincoln's Machine Division teams through problem solving and  continuous improvement of safety, quality, operational performance, as well as customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities 

 

The Engineering Technologist will handle small to medium sized projects and day-to-day shop support. In addition, they will lead projects both within the department and cross-functionally, and may also work with techs, college students or other engineers. Responsibilities include: 

 

  • Develop and execute continuous improvement activities to reduce cycle time, inventory, and waste while improving process performance, quality, cost, and standardizing the processes. 
  • Resolving safety, environmental and ergonomics issues
  • Cost reductions
  • Evaluation and implementation of employee suggestions
  • Development and implementation of new processes
  • Performing cost analyses
  • Development of processes for and the launching of new products, capacity studies. or other projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager

 

Education & Experience Required 

 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Technology and 3+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, tools and materials
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team; good organizational skills with ability to handle a variety of assignment and changing priorities
  • Good decision-making ability
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Able to perform hands-on work as required
  • Ability to occasionally work off shifts
  • Ability to be effective working extensively on the shop floor with employees and processes
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point; CAD software; ability to learn SAP
