Summary

 

Lincoln Electric is seeking a Environmental Mechanical Designer to drive the execution of mechanical design for medium-to-large customer environmental fume extraction projects. The Environmental Mechanical Designer will utilize quotes and marked up layouts from Sales to mechanically design and layout the equipment within a customers’ facilities for installation. Communicate with Environmental Specialists and directly with the customer in order to ensure constructible designs.  Customer visits to understand customer design goals and constraints and develop a layout solution for easy installation. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a global leader in its industry. This position can be hybrid, based in either our Cleveland or Orville location.  

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Play a key role as the environmental technical expert for system designs & layouts and perform training.
  • Prepare detailed mechanical CAD layout drawings per Lincoln Electric standards.  Follow company procedures for drawing modification, securing, and distribution.
  • Ability to manipulate CAD views to redesign, modify, or otherwise edit existing design.
  • Reviews drawings to verify completeness, clarity, and accuracy of drawing.
  • Ability to read and understand facility Architectural and Engineering drawings.
  • Have a good working understanding of the mechanical and electrical codes and regulations that are required to be met for the work that is being performed. 
  • Some travel will be required to customer facilities for site surveying. 
  • Strive to exceed customer expectations to ensure high level of customer satisfaction; excellent teamwork required with the project teams.

 

Education & Experience Required

 

  • Associate Degree with 5+ years of related experience OR Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of related experience, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing,Civil or Facilities Engineering.
  • Experience in engineering design, and/or project managment.
  • Good overall background in drafting and proficient in CAD design.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lead others and communicate cross-functionally; ability to work with all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Must have proven ability to work well independently, as well as part of a group
  • Ability to solve complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

 

Preferred 

 

Solid Edge experience is a plus.
