We are seeking an IT Project Manager (PM) for our Euclid, OH Global Headquarters. The IT PM will play a pivotal role in IT’s capacity to deliver global high-quality solutions. The Project Manager is charged with managing projects through all phases: planning, scoping, analysis, requirements gathering, design, development, implementation, and post-launch support. The PM collaborates with IT Business Partners and IT Service/Portfolio Owners to establish project implementation plans and timelines. The PM then works closely with IT Solution Delivery teams to staff and successfully execute projects by ensuring timely deliverables and evaluating project performance (cost and timing) against the plan throughout the course of a project. The current open IT PM position centers on the need for an experienced software application implementation manager, with special emphasis on global third-party, configurable, often modular solutions architected around either a SaaS or an on-premise model. Examples of such solutions include global ERP (SAP), sales force automation (SalesForce), global time and attendance, and identity/access management.

What You Will Do:

 

Project Delivery (75%)

  • Provide project leadership and management to ensure project deliverables, timelines, and resource constraints are met and adhere to PMO policies and standards:
    • Establish project scope, requirements, priorities and deadlines
    • Collaborate with IT Business Relationship Managers, technical and functional staff and business partners to establish key project milestones and develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, and task lists including project team resource assignments
    • Engage and manage vendors as key contributors to a project, as needed
    • Establish project budgets, track spend and communicate current and projected burn rates.
    • Assemble and coordinate IT applications, infrastructure and/or IT operations resources according to the demands of each initiative
    • Define and communicate roles for project team members (IT technical and functional, business subject matter experts, sponsors, stakeholders, etc.)
    • Define and execute a clear cadence of communications to team members and stakeholders for each project. Provide routine status reports and appropriate escalation to steering team
    • Engage with IT Delivery teams to define clear user acceptance test criteria and plans, and coordinate testing events leading to successful solution signoff
    • Continuously review and communicate project status, actively manage project risks and issues, monitor change readiness of the business, ensure delivery of proper training and solution documentation, coordinate cutover/launch activities, execute post-Go-Live hypercare support, and conduct post-implementation audit reviews for continuous improvement and ITGC compliance, all in accordance with the needs of each project based on size and complexity
    • Ensure project artifacts are continuously maintained and stored appropriately for maximum transparency across project team members and extended stakeholders
  • Advise the business in developing justifications for projects based on sound value propositions and assist in preparing requests for investment in capital projects to facilitate timely management approval
  • Manage IT resource capacity at the project, program, team, and department levels, providing routine and ad hoc budget-to-actual resource utilization updates and estimate-to-complete projections
  • Manage vendor relationship, performance, deliverables, reporting, and change management during projects
  • Adhere to compliance, legal and audit standards for projects and deliverables

Development and Maintenance of PMO Best Practices and Standards (25%)

  • As an integral member of the Project Management Office (PMO):
    • Lead efforts to standardize and strengthen global IT PMO processes from project initiation to application delivery and turnover
    • Participate in development and ongoing maintenance of PMO collateral, materials, documentation, workshops and other artifacts
    • Communicate and promote the value contribution of the PMO within IT and across the organization as a whole; Socialize IT PMO standards and expectations across IT to ensure uniform adoption
    • Define and institute practices and policies aligned to Lincoln Electric’s Higher Standard 2025 Vision and Strategy
    • Establish appropriate architecture review and adherence to standards and processes across IT and Business
    • Provide toolset selection for project management and code maintenance
    • Set standards for vendors on performance expectations, methodologies, reporting, and deliverables, and lead or participate in pricing and contractual negotiations
  • Select and implement appropriate methodologies to be used on projects, and educate stakeholders – e.g. Agile, Waterfall, etc.
  • Work with information governance, audit, and legal to ensure all IT projects comply with Lincoln Electric standards
  • Provide forward looking insight to business and IT leadership on emerging trends and technologies
  • Support strategic project planning by providing project portfolio reporting and PM perspective on project timing, resource capacity, change management implications and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or similar degree
  • Minimum of 7 years in industry, 5 years leading IT project teams
  • Experience establishing business justification and project budget, tracking spend and communicating current and projected resource burn rates
  • Experience with effective program/project portfolio management standards, tools and techniques
  • Quick learner on varied technical platforms and forward looking on emerging technologies that may bring value to the business
  • Vendor management skills in selection, negotiations and building long term “win-win” relationships
  • Experience working in a matrixed operating model and managing multiple stakeholders in IT and Business
  • Strong communicator, collaborator and negotiator; builds effective internal and external relationships
  • Ability to explain complex technology, and technology impact, in business terms
  • Effective listening skills, focusing on determining business needs first to drive technical solutions
  • Able to lead diverse business and technical teams across multi-site environments over a broad geography
  • Demonstrated skills in managing IT projects in a complex and dynamic environment involving multiple applications and technology platforms
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Ability to travel to remote (domestic and international) locations, with travel demands varying by project from 0 to 10%
  • PMP, Agile, and/or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Manufacturing industry experience with exposure to make-to-stock, make-to-order and/or engineer-to-order business models a plus
