Purpose

This position is responsible for coordinating and performing medical testing and processing of medical documentation as well as assisting with the care of employees.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilizes Microsoft 365 and related software to identify, track and coordinate scheduling of employee’s surveillance testing and results.
  • Obtains records from outside vendors to accurately track and file. Communicate abnormal findings to appropriate level of care. Maintains ongoing auditing.
  • Manages the patient flow during clinic hours, reviews and pays invoices, answers phone, orders and restocks supplies.
  • Assists with and conducts medical testing: pulmonary function, audiometry, respirator fit, mobile equipment operator, vision, drug screens and accurately records results in electronic medical record.
  • Assists with medical care for emergencies. Assists with medical walk-in clinic, wellness programs, and performs vital signs.
  • Maintains confidentiality with all work.
  • Good general computer skills MS Office, etc with electronic medical records system experience preferred
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed.

Basic Requirements

  • Licensed Medical Assistant; Minimum High School diploma/GED with  with 3-5 years’ experience in an Occupational health setting preferred
  • BLS certification required, experience with Workers’ Compensation a plus
  • Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment utilizing Microsoft 365
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to stand and walk frequently and lift 10 pounds and work at both the Euclid and Mentor Campuses as needed
  • Must obtain and maintain certification as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist through the Council for Accreditation of Occupational Hearing Conservation within 2 years of hire
  • Must obtain and obtain National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved certification to perform spirometry within 2 years of hire
