QA Technologist

PURPOSE: Support, activities targeting Quality assurance for new products and the new product development processes within Machine Division.  Reports to Quality Assurance Group Leader.



  • Must have an uncompromising attitude towards Quality.
  • Must thoroughly understand, enforce and follow the Lincoln Electric Quality Management System as it applies to all daily activities
  • Support the new product development processes, by giving input to the quality aspects of the parts, assemblies and production activities of new products from the Machine Division.
  • Participate in stage-gate processes, to ensure that the appropriate quality-related tasks are completed during the correct phase of the projects.
  • Encouraged to initiate changes for continuous product and process improvement
  • Maintain documentation and records of quality assurance tasks done as part of the new product development.
  • Be aware of all product, document, and process changes in your area of responsibility which affect quality
  • Utilize the Quality Management System and appropriate divisional personnel to support or drive Continuous Improvement.
  • Assist, direct, and train other members of the Quality Assurance Department.

  • Minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Completion of Lincoln Electric 6 Sigma Gray Belt online training or direct equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Additional technical training in the Quality Assurance field or Root Cause Analysis, 2 year degree in Quality Assurance or other technical field or Professional certification(s) are preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system; Minitab is preferred.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering and quality standards
  • Basic knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, quality assurance tools, procedures, measurement techniques, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Charts (including Pre-control), Process Capability and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Ability to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion. 
  • Excellent oral, written communication and people skills. Ability to communicate diplomatically with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle a constantly changing set of priorities with minimal supervision
  • Capable of frequent standing and walking and lifting up to 60 lbs
  • Must have excellent attendance, safety and work record
  • Ability to work rotating shifts is desirable
