PURPOSE: Responsible for assisting engineers in test/verification of new products and procedures.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Work in Machine R&D on the testing of assemblies and products such as inverters, engine welders and plasma cutters.
  • Has working knowledge and skills to perform the validation of new designs, processes, warranty improvements and cost reductions.
  • Documents test results and presents data in an organized manner.
  • Assists engineers in the design of safe, high quality, cost effective, ergonomic, and environmentally responsible parts, subsystems and complete machines.
  • Collaborate with team colleagues, R&D, Manufacturing, Production, Supply, Quality and Service Departments to establish and achieve objectives.
  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision.
  • Review progress and perform other duties as needed or assigned.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Vocational Training and 3+ years experience required; or GED with 5+ years in related field. (but does not require a university degree).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and possess a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to use personal computers and common laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, schematics and test specifications.
  • Good hands-on assembly and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate information so that all parties will understand.  The employee is required to be able to respond to visual and audible alarms and operate safety equipment.  The employee is frequently required to see fine components and possess manual dexterity to properly place these components.   The employee is required to lift items up to 60 lb and push items with up to 60 lb force.  The employee frequently is required to reach or manipulate parts on work surfaces ranging from floor level to 66” high.   The employee is required to be capable of traveling to and within all buildings on the Euclid campus.
