PURPOSE: The staff internal auditor is a vital role within Lincoln Electric’s independent internal audit department, providing value-added assessments and analysis of Lincoln Electric’s internal controls environment. In this role, you will support a variety of internal audits and transformation initiatives, reporting to the Internal Audit Supervisor and Manager.  You will contribute to the function’s innovation through the development of data analytics and play an impactful role improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s controls environment.  

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Performs analysis and support Sarbanes-Oxley, Compliance, and Operational Audit engagements.  Includes planning, development, and execution of audit programs for key accounting and operational processes. Assist in various special projects throughout the year.

  • Performs testing of key controls and processes. Prepares work papers to support audit scope, objectives, risk analysis, findings and conclusions reached.  Provide recommendations and process improvement ideas for incorporation in to final audit reports.
  • Partners with external auditors in completing interim and year-end testing procedures in order to attest to the accuracy of the consolidated financial statements.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA, CIA, CFE certifications are preferred.  Potential for company support of ongoing or future certifications.
  • 0-2 years of relevant accounting and/or auditing experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of auditing methodologies and approaches. Strong understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), financial & IT process knowledge. 
  • Specific experience with SAP and data analysis tools (Alteryx, Tableau, etc.) preferred.
  • COVID permitting, expectation for international travel approximately 25% of time
