Summary

 

The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Corporate Services provides the Indirect procurement function with strategic category leadership, in developing and executing sourcing and supplier relationship management activities for the Corporate Services spend categories. Through close co-ordination with corporate, divisional, regional and site leadership, define category strategies which ensure business supply requirements are satisfied and compliance with best practice procurement methodologies, Lincoln Electric policies, and statutory regulations. This role involves developing and executing a multi-year strategic roadmap, category strategies, and plans. The successful candidate will build strong internal and external relationships, provide team leadership, and take end-to-end accountability for delivering results.  This role contributes to the evolution and overall success of Lincoln Electric’s Indirect Sourcing. In addition, the role aims to evolve our culture and ways of working to drive greater accountability, high performance and collaboration. 

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Lead a global strategic sourcing category responsible for global, and regional corporate services spend category.
  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager’s primary function is to ensure the health & outlook of the supply chain; and support the business by creating procurement strategies and plans, based upon budgets, and coordinating project/order related materials, services, and engineering requirements with total transparency to the team.
  • Drive optimized levels of procurement cost including year over year savings targets, based on category spend data available.
  • The geographic coverage covers all global regions.
  • You will define and maintain a formal strategic sourcing plans.
  • You will lead global sourcing councils where applicable with representatives from key stakeholder functions, who will contribute to the creation, ratify, and proliferate the strategic sourcing plan for the spend category managed.
  • In this role, you will partner collaboratively with all parts of the business, as well as the global procurement network, senior corporate leaders, and implement procurement strategies and policies, applying a structured approach.
  • You will achieve your objectives by demonstrating a clear understanding of the business structure, good communications skills, a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to multitask and coordinate with various functions.
  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for ensuring an optimized supply of quality services by:
  • Clearly defining the supply chain in coordination with the cross-functional commodity team
  • Documenting and communicating the supply chain strategy to cross functional personnel and management.
  • Creating and maintaining commodity plans and assuring proper execution.
  • Implementing professional sourcing processes and coordinating procurement activities to deliver optimized material cost and ensure supply base meets the project’s cost, delivery and quality requirements.
  • Proactively driving procurement strategies - pooling, bundling, designing to cost, etc.
  • Understanding the scope of supply and customer contract agreements, performing risk analysis and preparing for supplier negotiations
  • Identifying supply chain risks and monitoring the market forces related to supply chain to avoid potential issues/risks. 
    The Strategic Sourcing Manager will take on related activities supporting the wider LECO Global Procurement Strategy. As well as supporting the broader team as required across different projects and categories.

Education & Experience Requirements

 

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain ro related field

  • Master’s degree (preferred) in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field or MCIPS qualification
    •    7+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
    •    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    •    Strong negotiation skills
    •    Demonstrated leadership and ability to design, develop, and implement a category management strategic approach across a global organization combined with exemplary Procurement capability and a track record of success
    •    Ability to build trust and confidence quickly and professionally.
    •    Ability to coordinate between multiple groups in a cross functional environment to achieve objectives.
    •    Ability to bring strategic thinking and leading best practice solutions. Experience in procurement transformation is a plus.
    •    Advanced project leadership skills, designing and leading on delivery of large and complex sourcing, outsourcing, and managed services projects (e.g., MSP, RPO, etc.).
    •    Experience working in complex, high and low maturity global and regional organizations.
    •    Excellent people management skills, with the track record of building high-performing and collaborative teams.
    •    Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrable influencing skills and senior stakeholder management with credibility up to CxO level.
    •    High energy, pace, and an impeccable track record of teamwork, creating open and collaborative environment with colleagues, stakeholders, partners and suppliers
    •    Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
    •    Ability to deliver procurement cost/quality/delivery improvement programme across an organization
    •    Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations
    •    Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members
    •    Strong project management and prioritization skills
    •    Familiarity with various commodity specific processes/supply base.
    •    Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance
