PURPOSE: Lead a global strategic sourcing team responsible for Global Logistics and Transportation across multitude of areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

• Lead a global strategic sourcing team responsible for Global Logistics and Transportation spend category, which covers expenses related to Air Freight, Sea Freight, Ground transportation, Custom Brokering Services, Freight Audit, 3PL, 4PL etc.
• The Strategic Sourcing Director’s primary function is to ensure the health & outlook of the supply chain; and support the business by creating procurement strategies and plans, based upon budgets, and coordinating project/order related materials, services, and engineering requirements with total transparency to the team.
• You will manage a team of sourcing specialists, who will help define and proliferate global sourcing strategies.
• You will define and maintain a formal strategic sourcing plan.
• You will lead a global sourcing council with representatives from key stakeholder functions, who will contribute to the creation, ratify, and proliferate the strategic sourcing plan for the spend category managed.
• In this role, you will partner collaboratively with all parts of the business, as well as the global procurement network, and implement procurement strategies and policies, applying a structured approach.
• In addition, this position will support tactical execution from the selected supply chain and help maintain performance and profitability through completion of production.
• You will achieve your objectives by demonstrating a clear understanding of the business structure, good communications skills, a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to multitask and coordinate with various functions.
• The Strategic Sourcing Director is responsible for ensuring an optimized supply of quality services by:
  1. Clearly defining the supply chain in coordination with the cross-functional commodity team
  2. Aligning and leading cross-functional commodity teams with the various procurement strategies to be executed.
  3. Documenting and communicating the supply chain strategy to cross functional personnel and management.
  4. Early Involvement with product development projects, in coordination with R&D, to drive supply chain optimization.
  5. Establishing project material budgets using as sold data and develop procurement plans.
  6. Creating and maintaining commodity plans and assuring proper execution by the tactical procurement group.
  7. Implementing professional sourcing processes and coordinating procurement activities to deliver optimized material cost and ensure supply base meets the project’s cost, delivery and quality requirements.
  8. Proactively driving procurement strategies - pooling, bundling, designing to cost, etc.
  9. Understanding the scope of supply and customer contract agreements, performing risk analysis and preparing for supplier negotiations
  10. Identifying supply chain risks and monitoring the market forces related to supply chain to avoid potential issues/risks.
  11. Coordinating with various Strategic Sourcing Managers both locally, regionally, and globally for supplier negotiations to assure spending is fully optimized.
• The Strategic Sourcing Director will take on related activities supporting the execution of the wider LECO Global Procurement strategy.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of procurement, sourcing and/or Global losgitics and transportatipn experience
• Bachelors in Supply Chain, Transportation and Logistics, Procurement or related
• Broad supply chain knowledge & experience
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications
• Solid communication and listening skills.
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to build trust and confidence quickly and professionally.
• Ability to coordinate between multiple groups in a cross functional environment to achieve objectives.
