Summary

 

Lincoln Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Time Study Analyst. The Time Study Analyst will play a key role in supporting manufacturing Continuous Process Improvement by performing time studies and associated duties to document and improve labor standards in our Consumable Division.

What You Will Do

 

  • Conduct time studies to promote efficient and economical utilization of personnel and equipment. 
  • Collect video documentation of new & existing processes in the Consumable Division.
  • Directly observe and analyze personnel, manufacturing equipment and work procedures in the Consumable Division. 
  • Review & understand manufacturing specifications and work instructions. Ensure these align with the time study data used in new & established piecework prices. 
  • Use computer software for video analysis to aid in time studies, piecework price development and lean analysis. 
  • Use other data sources including equipment data, production records, and business systems to properly capture appropriate details.
  • Apply principles of industrial engineering, such as machine-operator activity charts, line balancing, labor optimization techniques, material flow analysis, spaghetti diagrams, etc. to evaluate and suggest work method proposals. 
  • Develop cost/benefit analysis for new work methods and equipment.
  • Assist with the implementation of a proactive continuous improvement program for existing manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain detailed records of manufacturing data across various systems. 
  • Interact with all departments as required to support Consumable Division initiatives. 
  • Present time study details directly to production departments. 
  • Anticipate challenges and recommend improvements to products, processes or service improvements. 
  • Periodically act as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others. 
  • Occasionally make decisions that affect the business results of the division.

Education & Experience Requirements

 

  • High school diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience OR Vocational training/certifications plus 5+ years of experience in a related work environment.
  • Experience with or ability to learn various computer software & data collection equipment, use of an ERP system such as SAP, MES software, Time Study software, simulation software and file management. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook; advanced proficiency in Excel is desired. 
  • Able to travel between the Euclid Consumables Plant and the Mentor Facility as required. 
  • Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills to collaborate with various layers of the organization.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. 
  • General knowledge of the processes, machines and equipment in the Consumable Division is needed for internal applicants.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions and maintain neat and accurate records.
