Position Summary:  On a production basis, performs spray assembly work which is typically of high complexity and/or requires fitting, alignment and adjustment of components, units and assemblies to very close tolerances.  Work requires manipulative skills of high level. Facility with a wide variety of hand tools and measuring instruments, and also sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled to make minor modifications in the assembly process within predetermined specifications.  Work typically involves wide variety of operations.  May perform some trouble-shooting and rework of production items.  Must be able to work from complex and detailed assembly blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with a minimum of supervision.

Position responsibilities:

  • With general supervision assembles or builds the designated spray component or product according to predetermined specifications
  • Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Machine Shop Manager
  • Participate in the mechanical / spray assembly component of the Spray Area project goals for Lincoln Electric Automation.
  • Mentors less experienced Spray Assemblers or other Lincoln Electric Automation employees
  • Remain a competent, professional staff member capable of meeting established production and quality goals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Utilize problem identification and resolution systems.
  • Keep the Machine Shop Manager informed through timely utilization of verbal and written reports
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job


Essential skills and experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Two years assembly experience preferred
  • Ability to use appropriate hand tools and specialized equipment
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions such as schematics, blueprints and job orders
  • Ability to work with parts/items repeatedly
  • Capable to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Skilled in the use of computers to independently navigate our ERP system, Word and Excel
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training

  • Physical demands:  While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.   Be able to climb ladders; lift hand tools approx. 1-15 lbs in weight to complete machine assembly, parts up to 50 lbs.  Repetition with activity. 
  • Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


ISO-14001:  Complies with ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.  Support, implement and understand the intent of the EMS policy.  Participates with ISO-14001 as required.
