ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a full-time Engineer, Welding Consumables R&D&I (m/f/d) (35 hours/week) to join our Eisenberg (Palatinate) location as soon as possible. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the following tasks:

Welding consumables product design:

Development of new welding consumables for

  • Different segments and applications
  • Changing industry requirements
  • Customer specific requirements
  • New steel / material grades introduced to market
  • Sustainability related requirement
  • Any company specific innovative initiative

Product modifications

Work on product improvements based on

  •  Anticipation of changing chemicals and steels, and raw material supplying situations / geo-political developments
  •  Fine tuning the products to customer and market needs
  •  Analysis of customer feedback
  •  Performing industry and internal benchmarking

Manufacturing support / new process exploration / Quality Assurance

  • Improve product manufacturability, cost & competitiveness
  • Allow for alternative chemicals and steels
  • Assurance of product performance corresponds to customer expectations
  • Improvement in product consistency
  • Participate in new initiatives in improving manufacturing process and product performance
  • Assist in Quality Assurance and Laboratory work

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE POSITION

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Chemistry (Preferably Inorganic chemistry) or Materials Science
  • Knowledge of chemicals, Ceramics / refractory, Minerology, Metallic materials, Metallurgy or similar
  • Experiences from relevant industries in the areas of product engineering, development and/or manufacturing process
  • Knowledge of Quality Management is a plus
  • Knowledge of German and English is mandatory. Knowledge of other European language(s) is a plus
