Summary
Lincoln Electric is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at the Fort Loramie Automation site. This position plays a critical role in managing and executing the engineering processes that drive the design, development, production, and service of Lincoln Electric’s state-of-the-art automation equipment.

What You Will Do:
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will support the design and development of Lincoln Automation equipment for automotive, aerospace, appliance and energy industries. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Project Leadership & Coordination: Assist in defining project timelines, resource requirements, and staffing needs. Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and adherence to financial targets (labor and material costs).
- Engineering Design & System Integration: Work closely with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic engineers to drive the design of complex automation systems. Lead the creation and troubleshooting of control systems including PLC, Safety PLC, HMI, servo motion, and robot programming.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Guide teams in the development and resolution of issues. Oversee start-up, debugging, and final system maturation to ensure systems meet customer specifications and performance standards.
- Budget & Cost Management: Lead the effort in maintaining project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial expectations. Work with procurement teams to identify cost-effective suppliers and establish purchasing strategies.
- Onsite Support & Commissioning: Manage onsite installation activities, assist with equipment commissioning, and ensure successful system integration. Resolve any customer payment issues as required upon project completion.
- Documentation & Standardization: Coordinate compiling operator and maintenance manuals. Assist in developing and maintaining engineering and product standards to ensure consistency and high-quality deliverables. Ensure compliance with ISO documentation standards for projects.
- Team Development & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring their technical development. Assist in team performance evaluations, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Education and Experience Required
- Education: A technical degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is highly desired.
- Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation design and engineering. Proven expertise in working with PLC/HMI systems, robot programming, control systems, network & fieldbus systems, and safety systems.
- Experience with electrical schematic creation and design using AutoCAD Electrical (preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership and project management experience, including working with machine builders, management teams, and cross-functional support functions.
- Ability to travel ~25%
