Finance Specialist, Automation Integration

Position Summary:  This position is responsible for supporting and improving the process implementations, daily operations, and integration of newly acquired businesses for Lincoln Electric Automation (Global Automation).  The person in the position must have an extensive and proven financial and accounting background to ensure compliance with all the rules and regulations issued by Federal, State and local government. Position responsibilities are focused on Global Automation as a whole and site specific responsibilities as deemed necessary.


Role qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives
  • Minimum of three years prior experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas.
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA considered a plus
  • Public accounting background, a plus
    Position responsibilities:
  • Work in coordination with management to establish, maintain and enforce proper accounting methods and policies in accordance with Lincoln standards including U.S. GAAP, Corporate Policies and Procedures, Corporate Reporting Standards, and Internal Controls (Sarbanes Oxley)
  • Perform special projects as needed or directed by Global Automation Financial and Operations management, which is expected to include assignments for Global Automation as a whole and site specific projects as deemed necessary.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting, general ledger and departmental structures for Global Automation companies
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close through Hyperion Financial Management templates and FDM reporting
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment of revenue recognition on both a percentage-of-completion and completed contract basis.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Interface with other departments to verify transaction report data and issues.
  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Respond to inquiries from the Controller regarding financial results, and special reporting requests
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.


Essential skills and experience:

  • Sound technical accounting skills and prior experience interpreting technical accounting guidance
  • Must be knowledgeable in establishing and maintaining a strong internal control structure
  • Must be knowledgeable in US GAAP
  • Must be knowledgeable in analysis of profit drivers and working capital
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Experienced with Epicor ERP and Hyperion Financial Management is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast paced work environment
  • Educational, training, and experience requirements may be modified at Management’s discretion.

Reporting to this position:  Indirect oversight of local Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable clerks

  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training

  • Work environment:  Generally works in an indoor office environment. Exposed to any number of elements, but none present to the extent of being disagreeable, Overtime is required. Travel may be required based on project assignments.
