Job Responsibilities
Harris is seeking an EHS Specialist to join our team!!
This position works with the Operations Manager to plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and EPA rules and regulations, including data monitoring and reporting for Lincoln Corporate.
Basic Job Responsibilities:
- Supports and establishes programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials, as well as other legal and regulatory training.
- Supports the preparation of studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies. Assists in accident root cause analysis and consequent corrective action.
- Performs routine inspections of the organization’s facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
- Conducts the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
- Compiles and submits accident and other environmental reports as required by regulatory agencies as well as corporate reporting.
- Conducts or assist with internal ISO system audits.
- Administers and supports the maintenance of a lockout/tag out program.
- Maintains first aid supplies.
- Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Maintains and monitors waste disposal, including sampling analysis for waste streams from the facility.
- Reviews safety policies and procedures with all new employees.
- Maintains safety files and records.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to learn electronic control systems and train other team members. Strong Microsoft Office computer skills in Powerpoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and other applicable laws and guidelines. Preferred: SAP experience a plus and ISO certification as a Lead or Internal Auditor (14001 preferred).
