Job Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Voice Engineer, Technical Lead to design, implement, and manage our voice infrastructure. This role will be instrumental in aligning voice technologies with business goals, ensuring high-quality voice services, and leading modernization initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in SIP trunking, SBCs, dial plan architecture, and voice network infrastructure, along with strong leadership and project management capabilities. This position will lead integrations with platforms like 8x8, Microsoft Teams, and Active Directory, while overseeing the full lifecycle of voice system deployment and operations.

 

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise voice infrastructure, including networking, SIP trunking, SBCs, and dial plans
  • Translate business and user requirements into voice system capabilities and features 
  • Lead integration of voice systems with 8x8, Microsoft Teams, and Active Directory 
  • Manage voice-related VLANs, LAN switch configurations (QoS), and digital phone deployments 
  • Oversee the decommissioning of legacy phone systems, toll-free numbers, associated trunking/networking and unused DIDs
  • Administer number porting, forwarding, and CSR acquisition processes
  • Monitor and troubleshoot voice quality issues, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
  • Develop and maintain 911 compliance plans and emergency call routing
  • Manage telecom billing, invoicing, and licensing for voice services
  • Maintain inventory and approve procurement of physical phones and related hardware
  • Provision phones and manage MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) requests
  • Create and maintain documentation for voice systems, processes, and site-specific configurations
  • Support contact center technologies and ensure seamless voice operations
  • Develop and execute test plans, backout plans, and hypercare support for voice projects
  • Collaborate with vendors for quoting, service delivery, and ongoing support
  • Provide user training and respond to voice-related inquiries
  • Contribute to the enterprise voice strategy and roadmap in alignment with IT and business goals

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise voice engineering, including VoIP, networking and SIP technologies
• Hands-on experience with 8x8, Microsoft Teams voice integration, and Active Directory
• Strong understanding of voice network architecture, SBCs, and dial plan pricing
• Experience with telecom service providers, number management, and CSR processes
• Familiarity with VLAN engineering, LAN switch configuration, and VoIP provisioning
• Knowledge of emergency services compliance (e.g., E911)
• Experience with contact center platforms and voice quality monitoring tools
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA Voice, CCNP Collaboration) are a plus
• Ability to travel to global sites and support deployments as needed
