Job Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Production Supervisor on all fabrication, assembly, and material handling tasks within the shop environment.
  • Fabricate components by cutting parts to specifications using an industrial band saw, per technical drawings and prints.
  • Weld large and small assemblies and sub-assemblies using MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  • Assemble welded components following fabrication and powder coating processes, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and functionality.
  • Perform material handling duties, including operating tow motors (forklifts) and cranes to move raw materials, components, and finished assemblies safely and efficiently.
  • Verify that all fabricated and assembled systems meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively in team settings while also working independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company safety regulations, policies, and industry codes—both with and without direct supervision.
  • Operate power hand tools and other equipment to support fabrication, assembly, and material handling processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor to support production goals.

Job Requirements

  • Valid CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) Welding Certification an asset.
  • Proven experience in welding (MIG and TIG) and fitting within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Demonstrated material handling skills, including experience with tow motor (forklift) and crane operation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Physical capability to lift to 40 lbs. regularly and perform hands-on tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in operating an industrial band saw and power hand tools for fabrication support.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills to address challenges and collaborate with team members.
  • Prior experience with assembly processes, including handling powder-coated components, is a plus.
