Purpose

The IT General Controls and IT Audit Support Lead plays is responsible for leading the response to IT General controls (ITGC) and statutory IT audits; leading the remediation of IT audit findings; leading the collection of ITGC evidence; leading the facilitation of walk thrus with internal and external auditors; leading the strategy, maintenance, health and continuous improvement of the ITGC & IT Audit Support service.

 

This role provides technical leadership and expertise concerning IT General Controls and IT Audit Support. This position requires attention to detail, strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with IT, audit teams, and other stakeholders. 

 

The Lead, IT General Controls and IT Audit support is the Service Owner for all IT General Controls and IT Audit Support related risk and compliance assessment and identification activities, compliance management, support of applicable IT General Controls audits and execution of IT-owned controls. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT audit support for Sarbanes Oxley and statutory audits
  • Lead User Access Reviews analysis
  • Lead collaboration with auditors to provide requested data, reports, and documentation in a timely manner
  • Oversee collection and organization of data and reports from various IT systems to support IT Audit and IT General Controls activities
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of data and reports provided to auditors
  • Lead the documentation of audit-related processes, controls, and findings
  • Lead the maintenance, organization and lifecycle management of ITGC and IT audit support documentation, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Create and maintain Solution Overviews for ITGC and IT Audit Support and show connections to others
  • Take the lead in partnering with IT teams to ensure systems and processes are compliant with applicable standards
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external auditors to clarify data and resolve inquiries
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and support to other members of the IT team on ITGC and IT Audit-related issues
  • Lead the identification of required skills needed to support and enhance the ITGC and IT Audit support service and work with leadership to incorporate into org planning and training
  • Create and maintain strategies and roadmaps for the ITGC and IT Audit Support service
  • Enhance and improve IT processes to align with regulatory and audit requirements
  • Implement, track and report applicable metrics to measure the health of the ITGC and IT Audit Support service
  • Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency of the ITGC and IT Audit Support program and processes
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, approaches, processes, industry trends applicable to IT General Controls and IT Audit support and champion evaluation and implementation of same
  • Take the lead in maintaining and enhancing applicable compliance assessment toolkits for testing and validation
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations, standards, and emerging regulatory requirements and ensure compliance
  • Provide technical leadership for ITGC and IT Audit Support projects
  • Act as the subject matter expert in the ITGC and IT Audit Support area

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT audit support, IT General Controls, or related field. Robust knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), COBIT, COSO
  • Experience developing and implementing ITGC and/or IT Audit Support programs, processes, procedures, and standards
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience mentoring and providing technical leadership to others
  • Wide-ranging knowledge in technical infrastructure and applications, from legacy through next generation
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, controls, and audit processes. Knowledge of Active Directory and/or SAP security a plus
  • Proficient understanding of business focus and processes and the ability to inject cybersecurity compliance into the business through teamwork and influence
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, trustworthiness and confidence to represent the company and security leadership with the highest level of professionalism
