Purpose

 To carryout handling, sampling, prepping, identifying, and storing of steel for QA purposes

Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Unload, sample, and prepare steel for QA analysis
  • Paint, color code, segregate, and store rod in assigned area as directed after quality classification is determined by Quantovac analysis and as directed by the OES operator
  • Perform color code tagging of strip steel as directed by the OES operator
  • Supports Quantovac team in effort to ensure that production needs are met
  • Supports the Warehouse Coordinator in ensuring that steel is stored following a FIFO system
  • Other assignments as assigned by the supervisor
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must understand the relevance and importance of the quality objectives and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives
  • Working knowledge of Lincoln Electric procedures and practices
  • Ability to work in a neat and orderly manner with a minimum of supervision
  • Must be able to process in a minimum amount of time samples that produce a quality burn
  • Working knowledge of overhead crane with hairpin hook and towmotor equipped with boom
  • Ability to work off shifts, if required
