Job Responsibilities

  • Performs internal and customer demonstrations and training of welding equipment and consumables, locally and at the customer sites (e.g. during Open Houses or Exhibitions).
  • Provides best practice installation support, which includes machine start-up, procedure development and training to customers.
  • Provides support in ensuring successful weld procedure test locally and at customer sites.
  • Performs introduction of new technology to key accounts, as identified and driven by the sales team.
  • Tracks and reports consumables levels; identifies needs for demos and seminars; orders consumables based on input from manager.
  • Setup Pre-Welding Procedure Specifications (PWPS); updates and maintains the Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) database.
  • Tracks and plans calibration and certification of (measuring) equipment
  • Abide by and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees
  • To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
  • To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Manager, Application Resource Center in a timely and professional manner.
  • To report directly to the Manager, Application Resource Center in an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to business unit

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Welding Technician Diploma or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience & Training Requirement:

  • At least 2 years of previous experience working directly with a Technical Welding background
  • Expert on welding processes – including the ability to set and complete weld test plates.
  • Ability to optimize machine settings
  • Extensive ability to repair machines and/or describe the issue to a service provider
  • Must have welding application experience with MIG process on various base metals
  • Basic weld programming skills including Robot, Cobot, Hard Automation
  • Good hands-on skills on Vertical Mill, CNC, Lathe for plate beveling, sectioning and mechanical samples preparation.
  • Hands-on experience on metallographic samples preparation
  • Hands-on experience on various destructive testing methods: tensile, guided bend test, macro, fillet break test, Charpy.
  • Basic application knowledge of weld heat treatment processes as a part of procedure qualification
  • Experience coordinating non-destructive testing activities with the third party
  • Welding Inspection experience and confidence in accepting/rejecting completed welds
  • Valid welder certification is an asset
  • Must have a valid driver license with clean records for the last 5 years
  • Willing to travel as needed, up to 25 % of the time, with the ability to travel to the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
