Summary
Red Viking, a Lincoln Electric Company, has an outstanding opportunity for a Procurement Supervisor. The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for the execution of all product specific supply chain activities and direct supply chain related functions including direct/indirect material purchasing, inventory control, and supporting project throughput to assure agreed customer service levels with optimal cost.
The Procurement Supervisor will be familiar with Red Viking’s quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives. This role focuses on departmental leadership, supplier development, and improving departmental/supplier performance.
**This is an on-site position in our Plymouth, MI location with some flexibility for some remote working days**
What you will do:
- Create, maintain and issue monthly procurement plan for all assigned products sourced externally.
- Lead or support company/intercompany projects related to cost savings/operational improvements.
- Responsible for development of and ensuring all departmental processes are followed.
- Develop, maintain, & monitor departmental and supplier KPI and take appropriate action based on the results.
- Work with other department managers on a regular basis to identify areas of improvement that will attain higher levels of customer satisfaction.
- Manage all regulatory requirements associated with supply chain management. i.e.: international shipment documentation.
- Ensure accurate release, confirmation, and expediting of all purchase orders.
- Maintain stock inventories as well as related critical materials/components according to defined target values.
- Perform scenario planning for potential supply disruption or business continuity issues.
- Support financial efforts with timely update on production volumes/pricing for the remainder of the year.
- Communicate/escalate supply issues in a timely manner.
- Identify and mitigate risks, report project metrics, and conduct detailed analytics for effective decision-making and problem-solving.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers as needed in collaboration with other departments.
- Monitor & evaluate individual staff performance on a regular basis as well as year-end review/appraisals.
- Lead mentoring process of new/inexperienced employees.
- Determine and maintain appropriate department staff levels, training, and skills consistent with business objectives.
- Develop annual departmental budgets and operations objectives, consistent with business planning activities.
- Proactively address and resolve invoice payment issues.
- Maintain adequate planning and master data parameters (i.e., MOQ, lead times, order frequency).
Experience and Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance or other related fields OR proven equivalent in experience.
- 5 or more years experience in supply chain management or operations management for engineered to order products, or similar field with experience managing others.
- Strong user knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP/MRP systems.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem resolution skills for supply chain issues.
- A commitment to company values with previous team leadership and project management experience.
- Occasional travel may be required to local vendors/suppliers. With a potential to travel to a key suppliers ~10%.
