Summary

Fori Automation is a Lincoln Electric Company and global supplier of welding, assembly, material handling and testing equipment for both automotive and non-automotive customers around the world. Responsibilities typically involve supporting the process, simulation & engineering group and leading a team of robot programmers onsite and at customer facility locations. This PE position will support the current Welding / Robotic engineering lead with various project task responsibilities, program downloads, robot set-up, robot dress, project execution assistance pertaining to various robotic applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support current Weld / Robotic Engineering & Project Team 
  • Create robot downloads from simulation OLP’s provided
  • Posses the ability to utilize and verify robot programs (ex, Fanuc Robo Guide)
  • Oversee & manage robot matrix and coordinate deliveries
  • Work with and support the project and engineering team
  • Coordinate with other Project Engineers regarding schedule and commercial ordering
  • Coordinate with Fori process engineers for process and layout development
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews of deliverables
  • Meet with customers, and ability to discuss robot ordering and programming requirements
  • Fully document and maintain engineering records for incorporation into engineer’s job book
  • Provide robotic engineering support to manufacturing and field service departments
  • Ability to work closely with the Project Manager and Controls Project Engineer on all aspects of the project

Required Education & Experience

  • Mechanical / Robotics / Welding – degree preferred or equivalent job experience 7 to 10 yrs in robotics / welding robotic applications  
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to take the Robotic Engineering Lead on a project
  • A background in robot programming
  • Knowledge of spot and mig welding systems
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience
  • Possible 40% travel requirement
  • US Passport and travel capability to Mexico & Canada
