Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer. This role is critical in mechanical concept, design and checking of functional machines and tooling utilizing standards, specifications and line up information presented by the Engineering Manager, Supervisor or Leader.

What You Will Do

  • Mechanical concept and design based on line up, specifications and part/vehicle data.
  • Able to use standard or reference designs for creation of new designs.
  • Prepare designs utilizing 2d and 3d CAD.
  • Check mechanical drawings for correctness.
  • Act as a mentor to junior level designers and detailers.
  • Capable of helping to create and improve department design standards.
  • Create accurate B.O.M.’s.
  • Perform and document basic calculations for stress and physics.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial technology used as a tool for creation of designs.
  • Use of materials and commercially available stock for automation design.
  • Organizing and maintaining CAD files.
  • Use of Fori Standards to develop accurate designs.
  • Use of Industry Engineering Standards for construction and clarification of assembly drawing.
  • Knowledge and use of Industry Standards for safety and ergonomics.

Required Education & Experience

  • 10+ years experience in machine design.
  • 10+ years experience in assembly automation.
  • Experience in creating and improving department design standards.
  • Experience in mentoring junior level designers and detailers.
  • Use of materials and commercially available stock for automation design.
  • Expertise in G.D.T.
  • Knowledge and use of Fori Standards is a plus.
  • High school diploma minimum/certification in Inventor 3D.
  • Must be experienced in 2D Autocad. Also must be experienced in either Inventor 3D, Mechanical Desktop or SolidWorks.
  • Team Player who can work within an ISO9001:2000 environment.
