Job Responsibilities

•    To report directly to the Shift Foreman or Designate on an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to safely running Drum Winding lines

•    Read and follow the instructions in the Shift notes that pertain to the product being run, prior to starting work.

•    Verify that the identification tag corresponds with the product being produced.

•    Set up and string-up the line.

•    Change supply reels and butt weld together.

•    Control the amplitude, rise, number of turns, and physical appearance according to specification.

•    Check and record outside diameter as required.

•    Wind the electrode into drums.

•    Clear and secure the end of each Electrode Product, when required.

•    Properly label, bag, box, and palletize the finished product according to specifications.

•    Identify each drum or box with the appropriate identification and operator code.

•    Maximize the productivity of the production lines.

•    Change parts when needed and correct problems before they affect the quality of the product.

•    Submit samples of finished product to the Quality Assurance Department for evaluation at the appropriate time or frequency.

•    Follow Permission Notes and Special Order Instructions that may affect the product that you are running.

•    Supply the line with packaging material, including but not limited to drums, reels, labels, and other packaging accessories, as required.

•    Report mechanical or electrical problems to the Production Team Lead/Foreman/Shift Foreman or the Maintenance Department.

•    Review, understand, and follow the departmental procedures, CEW/EW Specifications, CSSW/SSW Specifications, Plant Rules and Regulations and the Job Hazard Analysis that are associated with the performance of this job.
   
•    Abide by and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees

•    To participate co-operatively as an employee within the company’s GPMP and Merit Rating System.

•    To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department as well as other departments across the company.

•    To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.

•    To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Shift Foreman or Designate in a timely and professional manner.

Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Read, write and do general math well enough to keep the records associated with this job.
  • Able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job.
  • Be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and be able to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Able to visually recognize and distinguish the different color codes.
  • Able to work well as part of a team and get along with people.
  • Excellent attendance record.

Minimum Experience Requirement: 

  •    1 to 3 years of Manufacturing Experience
  •    Computer Knowledge
