Job Responsibilities
Product R&D (welding consumables) - Drives and manages LE China’s consumable R&D projects: new product development and existing product improvement. Establishes project goals and priorities by collaborating with commercial and operations teams - Develops concepts, products and solutions; Industrialization of new/improved designs. Review and monitor the progress of development projects in Smartsheet. - Coordinates product benchmark, validation and customer field trials. - Establish procedures and testing methods for assessing raw materials, in-process and end-product quality standards. Assess / Develop alternate new raw materials. - Facilitate production support and cost reduction to LE-China sites - Establish and maintain records of formula, processes, Technical product specifications and MSD for consumable products. • Product Quality assurance (QA) - Drive and maintain QMS and certification for LE China sites: ISO 9001/ CE/ others. - Manages the operation quality assurance and quality control, ensuring alignment with company business goals. - Risk Management, identify, assess, and mitigate quality risks through PFMEA - Monitor and report on warranty claims, Drive RCCM and implementation of corrective actions, Manage critical claims communications with customers - Support the plants when required for customer quality audits and in responding to specific customer requirements, Supplier audits: raw materials, traded products. - Manage Quality testing laboratories and internal / external tests of Raw materials and final products • Product Compliance - Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and policies for China - Manage Product compliance and third-party approvals for LE-China manufactured and traded products • Team Management - Team management, build/mentor/lead high performing R&D and QA teams - Set up / execute each of specific goals of R&D and Quality teams. - Lead Golden rules by example, monitor team members’ compliance, alert risks and report findings. - Work closely with other regional R&D and Quality colleagues - Ensure close collaboration with other functions at local and global levels
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science, Chemical Engineering / Chemistry or equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in welding related industry background preferred. • Proven leadership and team management experience. • Good understanding of company’s product strategy and business acumen. • Knowledge in one of/or combined disciplines, including welding consumables, materials, metallurgy, mineralogy, chemistry. • Knowledge of welding processes and welding Metallurgy • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends. • Fluent in English for technical and professional communication. • Good communication and influence skills.
