Summary

Lincoln Electric Automation is seeking Drafter / Detailer who will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and maintaining conceptual and detailed engineering drawings for custom robotic work cells and industrial tooling. You will utilize 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (Creo and SolidWorks) to support functional mechanical design, manufacturability, and adherence to engineering standards. This is an on-site position in Bettendorf, IA.

Responsibilities

  • Create engineering drawings from 3D models, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and functional intent.
  • Develop and review mechanical designs to support custom robotic work cells and industrial tooling.
  • Apply and interpret engineering standards, including proper identification and application of GD&T requirements.
  • Generate and/or review tolerance stack-ups to ensure proper fit, form, and function.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support design intent and production requirements.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of machine shop practices, including machined and welded components
  • Familiarity with tooling and fixtures used in robotic welding applications a plus
  • Associate degree (2-year) in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred, with 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience. Combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Proficiency with CAD drafting software, specifically Creo and SolidWorks; working knowledge of GD&T strongly preferred
  • High attention to detail with the ability to perform precise, meticulous work
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
