Job Responsibilities
Provides expert metallurgical support across Operations, R&D&I, Quality Assurance, Application Engineering, and customers. Conducts advanced metallurgical investigations, delivers analytical reports, and recommends technical solutions. Supports development and improvement of welding consumables for all EMEA Lincoln Electric factories. Represents Lincoln Electric in external technical forums, committees, and conferences.
Job Requirements
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Welding Engineering, or similar field.
10+ years in Metallurgy, welding metallurgy, or welding consumables development/production. Experience in metallurgical characterization (microscopy, SEM/EDS, mechanical testing). Experience with welding consumable standards (AWS, EN ISO) beneficial.
Expert knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, welding processes, alloy design, and microstructure–property relationships. Strong metallography and analytical skills. Ability to interpret test results and make recommendations. Skilled in technical report writing and communication. Experience working in cross-functional, global teams and managing remote collaborations.
