Job Requirements

Position Summary: The Manufacturing Supervisor leads assigned employees with their daily workload. Additionally, this position may be responsible for hiring and coaching employees or their opinions will be used for decision making.  Employees in this position will actively participate in employee development and the annual appraisal process.

 

Role qualifications:
•    High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
•    10-15 years’ experience
•    Supervisory experience preferred 

 

Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives.

 

Focus on competence, awareness, and training of personnel.
Understand and promote the positivity of impacting KPI’s

Job Responsibilities

•    Supervises all machine shop, weld shop, maintenance and facilities personnel. 
•    Focus on employee development, training, performance reviews and goal setting.
•    Handles employee relations concerns with assistance from the Operations Manager and Human Resources.
•    Plays a supportive role in all manufacturing projects to ensure successful results. (Including but not limited to; production planning, outsourcing and scheduling etc.)
•    Ensure safe work conditions and enforce safe work practices in alignment with EHS policy. 
•    Enforces policies and procedures.
•    Partners with machinists, welders, management, and support functions.
•    Assists with planning machines and weld shop resources. 
•    Oversees for delivery dates.
•    Reviews budget and overdue delivery costs.
•    Streamline processes and find efficiencies to enforce continuous improvement. 
•    Identifies opportunities for product improvement. 
•    Demonstrates a professional manner in the workplace and any extension of the workplace. I.e. customers, suppliers or off-site locations.  
•    Audits machined and weld component quality and identifies issues to management.  
•    Communicates with machinists and welders daily. 
•    Participates in production, ISO and safety meetings as needed. 
•    Identifies cost reduction opportunities, material, labor, lead time savings. 
•    Ensures good housekeeping and cleanliness to keep the area clean, organized and safe. 
•    Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed in support of Lincoln Electric’s strategic plan and Vision.
•    Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and hour budgets; 
•    Provide troubleshooting support to the Machine department;
•    Ensure staff are trained and able to produce per print quality parts within assigned budgets;
•    Ensure execution strategies are performed in a safe manner.  Communicate and correct near misses or violations;
•    Communicate effectively across the business to meet customer needs;
•    Coordinate with other internal team members to ensure most efficient execution while limiting waste;
•    Manage in-process quality documentation.  Provide feedback to team members and drive improvement on RTFT.
•    Uphold company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives;
•    Evaluate / review direct reports’ daily performance and issue corrective actions as needed; and
•    Perform other job-related duties as assigned

 

Essential skills and experience:
•    Experience in Microsoft Office
•    Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards
•    Quality systems training
•    High attention to detail, project budgets, and quality;
•    Able to plan, organize, and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks;
•    Able to keep work area clean and organized;
•    Able to provide directions to employees within the Machine department;
•    Able to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T;
•    Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills;
•    Safely orchestrate material flow and floor plan layout for active builds;
•    Basic fabrication, machining and metal finishing knowledge preferred;
•    General Microsoft Office application skills;
•    CAD / CAM experience preferred;
•    Commitment to company values; and
•    Educational, training and experience requirements may be modified at the management team’s discretion

•    Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
•    Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
•    Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
•    Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
•    Immediately notify the Manager if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
•    Attend required EHS training
