Summary
Lincoln Electric is seeking a CAD Drafter for our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. The CAD Drafter will play a key role in creating, modifying and maintaining 2D CAD drawings and 3D CAD models of engineering designed parts, assemblies, layouts and specifications. Responsibilities
- Prepare layouts, drawings, and designs according to engineering specifications, using a computer
- Review engineering drawings and supporting documents to verify freedom of movement between parts and adherence to the organization or industry standard practices
- Investigate and procure all data required to develop a design
- Employ the best combination of all preliminary information and contributing data to develop final design
- Analyze designs and confer with the engineering staff to resolve details not completely defined
- Retrieve information from file and display information on computer screen, using required computer language
- Manipulate CAD views to redesign, modify, and/or edit existing design
- Review drawings to verify completeness, clarity, and accuracy of drawing
- Transfer drawing dimensions from CAD system onto hardcopy, using peripheral equipment
Education & Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in drafting, machine design or tool design required
- Proficient in CAD, Solid Edge preferred
- Capable of doing complex 3D design work in the CAD system
- Ability to calculate intermediate to complex mathematics, including trigonometry
- Ability to manipulate CAD views to redesign, modify or edit existing design
- Ability to complete assignments with minimum or no instruction; and to meet deadlines as required
- Excellent written and verbal communication; excellent organizational skills
- Able to make decisions on design details, tool design requirements and final checking
