    • Perform frequency-domain and time-domain analysis to ensure system stability and robustness.
    • Develop analog and digital signal processing systems for feedback conditioning and waveform control.
  • Implementation & Tuning
    • Work with firmware engineers to translate control designs into firmware implementations using C/C++ or model-based code generation.
    • Tune control loops in real-time systems, including PID, PI, lead-lag, state space, and nonlinear controllers.
    • Support hardware bring-up and debugging of control systems in lab environments.
  • System Modeling & Analysis
    • Create detailed models of power electronic systems including converters, inverters, and motor loads.
    • Analyze system dynamics, parasitics, and nonlinearities to improve control performance.
    • Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design control and power stages.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement
    • Stay current with emerging control techniques, digital signal processing, and power electronics trends.
    • Propose and prototype novel control strategies to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability.
    • Document design processes, simulation results, and tuning procedures for knowledge sharing.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems and Control Engineering, or related field.
  • Level II Engineer 3+ years of hands-on, controls engineering experience.
  • Level III Engineer 5+ years of hands-on, controls engineering experience.
  • Level IV Engineer 8+ years of hands-on, controls engineering experience.
    • Selected candidate's Job Level and Pay Grade will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, PLECS, PSIM, or equivalents.
  • Strong understanding of control theory, compensator design, system dynamics, and signal processing.
  • Experience with embedded systems and real-time control applications.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems, digital signal processors, and microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency response analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high power (480V) electrical applications.
  • Experience with EV charging, welding, or plasma cutting applications.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and EMI/EMC considerations in controller design.
  • Experience with FPGA-based control systems or high-speed digital platforms.
