Purpose
To assist R&D engineers in new product development of EV Charging products with a focus on PCB components.
Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Provides technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development.
- Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
- Work in Machine R&D laboratory assisting multiple projects in the design, construction, and testing of EV Charging products.
- Use data acquisition system, computers, and CAD as required. Assist in the preparation of documentation.
- Operate basic lab equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, temperature recorders, soldering equipment, etc. (Training provided as needed).
- Support testing and maintenance on the public charging station on the Cleveland campus.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s RISE Strategy.
Basic Requirements
- Level III:
Vocational Training & 5+ years of related experience or,
Associates Degree in related field or,
High School Diploma or equivalent & 7+ years of experience in related field
- Level IV:
Vocational Training & 8+ years of related experience or,
High School Diploma or equivalent & 10+ years of experience in related field
- Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
- Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
- Works with a moderate degree of supervision
- Highly motivated, quick to learn, and safety conscious. Ability to organize and maintain a neat work area.
- Able to maintain detailed test records.
- Ability to work on multiple projects with supervision and clear instruction. Familiarity with personal computers using the Windows® operating system. Ability to use common laboratory equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, schematics and test specifications. Capable of lifting 60 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Good hands-on assembly and troubleshooting skills.
- Easy to get along in a group and team environment.
- PCB assembly skills for thru-hole and SMT assembly and rework. BGA experience a plus.
