Summary
Lincoln Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Plant Engineering Technologist. Plant Engineering is the department within Lincoln Electric responsible for designing, maintaining, improving, and supporting the equipment, manufacturing processes, and plant-wide infrastructure. Past Plant Engineers have worked to create the operations as we know it today.
As a Plant Engineering Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and executing projects across our manufacturing facilities in the Cleveland and Mentor areas. Your focus will be on identifying and solving technical challenges while ensuring that all equipment and processes align with the organization’s safety, health, quality, and productivity standards. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assure safe, high quality, cost effective, ergonomic, and environmentally responsible manufacturing of PC boards for the Electronics Factory.
- Work can be electrical, mechanical, industrial or chemical in nature depending upon background and job assignment.
- Work is typically a mix of analysis and hands-on activities.
- Has specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline or function
- Interprets internal or external issues and recommends solutions/best practices
- Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions
- May lead functional teams or projects
- Works independently, with minimal guidance in complex situations
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's RISE Strategy.
- Supervisor directed assignments are broad in nature, including but not limited to:
- Process improvements and optimization
- Cost reductions
- Evaluation and implementation of employee suggestions
- Development and implementation of new processes
- Performing cost analyses
- Shop support
- Development of processes for and the launching of new products
- Capacity studies
- Quality improvements
- Assist in the development of training resources for production workers
Basic Requirements
- Level IV: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field with 11 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with 9 years of experience.
- Level III: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field with 7 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with 5 years of experience.
- Combination of experience and education will also be considered.
- Selected candidate’s Job Level and Pay Grade will be determined based upon qualifications and experiences.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good decision-making ability.
- Ability to handle a variety of assignments and changing priorities.
- Good computer and common laboratory equipment skills.
- Good written and oral communications skills.
- Able to perform hands-on work as required.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to occasionally work off shifts.
- Ability to be effective working extensively on the shop floor with employees and processes.
