Short Description
The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of inventory processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for analyzing inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes, and driving corrective actions through cross-functional collaboration with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Finance teams.
This role combines hands-on execution (cycle counting and transaction validation) with analytical problem-solving to improve inventory accuracy, strengthen operational controls, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Inventory Analyst will leverage SAP and data analysis tools to evaluate trends, optimize cycle count strategies, and support material flow and repair tracking processes.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, data-driven, and highly collaborative, with a passion for operational excellence and a proactive approach to resolving complex inventory challenges.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and determine the root cause of inventory adjustments as reported by the cycle counters.
- Define and implement corrective actions for inventory adjustments working cross-functionally as necessary.
- Evaluate results of cycle counts and determine whether further analysis or recounting is required.
- Develop stratification classes (i.e., A, B, or C) for cycle counts.
- Work with the Production Teams and QA to accurately track parts that require repair, ensuring that the appropriate transactions are keyed into SAP.
- Perform cycle counts.
- Other duties as assigned by Team Lead/Manager.
Skills, Aptitude, and Abilities
- Highschool Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Operations Management or related field, preferred.
- 3-5+ years of inventory, operations or purchasing required.
- Experience in weigh-count procedures, preferred.
- Proficient in the use of SAP, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes.
- Ability to work with other departments, including Master Data, Manufacturing Engineering, QA, Production Teams and Financial Audit as required.
- Analytical skills in order to evaluate and investigate potential material issues.
- Project management skills in order to ensure projects are completed timely.
- Perform projects related to inventory accuracy as assigned.
- Experience in operation planning, materials management and inventory control.
- Excellent attendance, safety and work record.
- Ability to lift or move containers up to 40 lbs.
- Self motivated with excellent communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent resident.
