Purpose
Responsibilities entail design and layout of printed circuit boards. Duties include PCB design, layout documentation, and library management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Create new printed circuit board layouts and revise existing printed circuit board layouts.
- Create schematic symbols and footprints from component datasheets.
- Check footprints against manufacturer recommendations and IPC specifications.
- Maintain, update, and synchronize part databases in ECAD and PLM software.
- Create new electronic schematics and revise existing electronic schematics.
- Work with Machine R & D and Manufacturing during the design process to assure that designs are manufacturable.
Basic Requirements Level II
Level II:
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering Technology and 3+ years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of professional experience creating and maintaining symbols and footprints for PCB libraries.
- 3+ years of professional experience with PCB layout and routing.
OR
- Associate Degree in Eletrical Engineering Technology or related field and 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 5+ years of professional experience creating and maintaining symbols and footprints for PCB libraries.
- 5+ years of professional experience with PCB layout and routing.
OR
- Equivalent work experience of 10+ years may be subsitued for the required education
- 10+ years of professional experience creating and maintaining symbols and footprints for PCB libraries.
- 10+ years of professional experience with PCB layout and routing.
AND
- Mentor Graphics / Siemens Expedition or similar layout experience required.
- PCB Design experience in analog, mixed, high speed and high voltage boards.
- Experience with library configuration management.
- Working knowledge of IPC standards and design for manufacturing guidelines.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work well under deadlines.
- Ability to learn quickly and succeed in a rigorous but fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Basic Requirements Level III
Level III:
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering Technology and 5+ years of relevant work experience

- 15+ years of professional experience creating and maintaining symbols and footprints for PCB libraries.
- 15+ years of professional experience with PCB layout and routing.
AND
