Overview of the Program
Lincoln Electric’s Product Management Internship Program offers individuals the chance to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. Participants work on meaningful projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience. The program includes technical training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities like presentations and leadership-led learning sessions. In this role, you will help support the development and execution of product strategy for a product line or category. It’s a great way to build skills, grow your network, and explore a future career in Product Management.
We are looking for participants in each of the below focus areas:
- Market research, analytics, feature development support, and social media
- Support hands on product design including troubleshooting, automation development, and database setup (engineering focus)
Potential Projects
Product Management/Marketing Focus:
- Contribute to market research, competitive analysis, and customer insight efforts to uncover trends and opportunities.
- Evaluate competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning. Support the development of customer personas and use case documentation.
- Review customer feedback, NPS survey results, and support ticket data to identify key themes. Track usage and adoption metrics for new features to inform product decisions.
- Draft user stories, define acceptance criteria, and outline feature requirements to support product development.
- Take part in project planning sessions, team meetings, and cross-functional events. Work closely with engineering, design, and QA throughout the development cycle.
- Develop training resources, sales enablement tools, and launch presentations to support go-to-market efforts.
- Help organize beta programs, pilot testing initiatives, and onboarding experiences for new customers.
- Monitor KPIs related to feature adoption, user engagement, and customer retention.
- Examine post-launch performance data and share actionable recommendations. .
- Support quarterly business reviews with insights and reporting on product line performance.
- Map and consolidate accessories across the machine portfolio as part of a large project.
- Create social media and product-related content supporting new products and mature products.
- Analyze data by tracking and building dashboards from both a product view and a portfolio view.
- Support light industrial branding by understanding brand names and what resonates with customers, with a focus on messaging and customer engagement
Engineering Focus:
- Assist in set up, operation, and optimization of automated welding robots
- Support testing, troubleshooting and documenting robot processes
- Participate in root-cause analysis
- Support PLC programming, debugging, etc.
- Work with industrial control hardware and safety systems
- Help develop HMI screens
- Assist with SQL database creation
- Work with other engineers to link automation systems to internal data platforms
- Collaborate cross functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and IT
- Participate in testing, verification, and validation activities
Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor’s degree.
- Eligible to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- A degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
- An interest or experience in product management.
- Desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
